The Essentials of HIV-Integrated Care: Expanding Whole-Person Care Through Comprehensive and Specialty Trainings, is an HIV syndemic focused training series aimed at providing the most up-to-date information and education for medical health care team members currently not involved in HIV care to increase their ability to prevent new HIV infections, identify people with HIV who are undiagnosed or out of care, and link patients not on antiretrovirals to care.
This session will be on HIV Prevention and Treatment and will be presented by Atsuko Yamahiro, MD, MPH, AAHIVS, Assistant Clinical Professor from Yale School of Medicine, Core Faculty at Yale Waterbury Hospital, and Medical Director and Internal Medicine provider at Chase Clinic, Waterbury, CT.
The Learning Objectives include:
- Examine current CT and national trends on new HIV infections and PLWH.
- Review current standards (or best practices) for providing HIV Prevention Treatment (PrEP).
- Increase awareness of the current standards (or best practices) for providing HIV Treatment.
All sessions provided in the Essentials of HIV-Integrated Care Series are CME-accredited.
