AI HEALTH is an online community of practice bringing together clinical and community providers to share ways to improve HIV services engaging African immigrants. A specific focus will be on strategies to improve clinical-community linkages and systems of care. Participants will tackle case studies and explore critical topics of interest with faculty, facilitators and peers.
AI HEALTH uses the Project ECHO model in conjunction with community of practice principles (a group of people sharing an interest in a topic and coming together to engage in a collective process of learning to fulfill both individual and group goals). Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences, barriers, challenges, and successes; provide input and guidance to one another; and engage actively in discussions with other clinical and community providers within the region.
Objectives are to:
- Learn best practices and strategies to providing HIV prevention, care and treatment to African immigrants
- Discuss prevention and treatment advances for HIV and related diseases
- Share challenging cases and gain insight from colleagues
- Connect with HIV providers to strengthen HIV services engaging African immigrants
