"Keeping your patients in regular care improves their health and reduces their risk of transmitting HIV to others." (Source: How Do I Keep Patients with HIV in Care? CDC, 2023). However, many providers report challenges in engaging patients in HIV services due to the patient's mistrust towards the medical system.
The Connecticut New England AIDS Education and Training Center Program and the Primary Care Development Corporation invite you to participate in a FREE, 60-minute interactive webinar to explore various perspectives from panelists, of diverse gender and ethnic identities, on what contributes to medical mistrust and discuss possible strategies to address it.
Objectives:
- Identify the patient’s context which prevents them from engaging in HIV services.
- Increase knowledge on strategies to address challenges that prevent patients from engaging in HIV services (e.g., medical mistrust).
- Identify at least two capacity-building assistance strategies to support patient recruitment and engagement services.
