Progress/Impact/Accomplishments:
2/28/2023 12:30 PM S McKay, L Polo, J Jordan
PT Champion Jacqui Jordan, PA has returned from leave. Champion Lorena Polo, MD will be leaving the clinic in April. We discussed the transition. Jordan is eager to continue with us. In addition, this clinic’s new CMO is beginning a Gender-Affirming care program and has identified a NP to lead the program. The PT team is working with the clinic to identify resources for helping this project move forward and providing training to the new NP. The new NP has been invited to join the PT meetings and will work to accommodate her schedule if necessary.
Resources shared with the clinic for GA-Care: Contacts with Anchor Health in Hamden, CT, an LGBTQIA+ Primary Care clinic, Fenway Trans Health ECHO contacts, Training programs at Fenway and nationally.
Additional efforts from AETC to assist this clinic, and others statewide to promote LGBTQIA+ health are to invite Jenny Siegel from MGH Transhealth program to address the clinic during a series of summer training events we are organizing, and to invite the clinic to participate in a statewide series on GA-Care that we are planning.
Jordan and Polo requested assistance in promoting front-desk cultural competency. Sent them information on the Safe Zone Initiative Meeting the Health Needs of LGBTQ+ Clients — The SafeZone Initiative (theszinitiative.org) and the upcoming webinar from HiTeq HITEQ Center - HITEQ Highlights: Improve the Collection and Respectful Use of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI). Will also work with them to identify a possible speaker to address their staff.
Identified -staff members Abhisek and Samantha as the outcomes data contacts. Jordan will send me contacts
