This talk describes the main aspects of providing PWH safe and responsible dental care. It reviews important laboratory tests, common oral mucosal diseases, and the effect of hyposalivation and its recommended management.
Learning objectives:
- Discuss safety concerns when providing dental care to PWH
- Review the common oral mucosal manifestations of HIV
- Review the important role of saliva plays in maintaining good oral health and how to best manage hyposalivation
