Review of a journal article on the interaction between HIV and Cardiovascular issues. Aspects of this discussion included gut translocation, lipid management, diabetes as a high risk category, HIV as an independent factor in cardiovascular disease, interaction between statins and some ART. Discussion about various HIV medications, particularly Abaclovir, which is contraindicated for some cases. Discussed the anti-inflammatory benefits of statins. Mention of hope for future IM injections of ART.
