The goal of an infection prevention and control program is to prevent healthcare-associated infections among patients and injuries and illnesses in healthcare personnel. This presentation will focus on developing and supporting a culture of safety in the delivery of HIV oral healthcare, including strategies for increasing compliance with relevant recommendations, regulations, and standards. These standards are universal, applying to all situations involving exposure to blood or potentially other infectious fluids, regardless of HIV status or risk. Tools and resources for monitoring and evaluating a site-specific infection prevention and safety program will be shared with participants.
