This three-day (in-person) workshop offers an engaging introduction to motivational interviewing (MI), an evidence-based, person-centered style of communication designed to strengthen a person’s own motivation and commitment to change. This training is specifically tailored for HIV healthcare providers and professionals. Participants will explore basic concepts, including the OARS and MI Spirit. Through a mix of presentations, group discussion, and hands-on practice, participants will gain insight into how MI can help facilitate conversations that empower individuals to take control of their own change process.
By the end of day three, it is anticipated that participants will have a solid understanding of how MI can help guide individuals toward making meaningful changes in their lives. No prior experience with MI is necessary—just an open mind and a willingness to share and learn!
