Methamphetamine 2021: Focus on HIV
Credits not available for recorded webinar.
Presented by: Richard A. Rawson, PhD
Use of methamphetamine (MA) is increasing in many parts of the US, including New England. There is substantial new information on the role of MA in the overdose crisis, the effects of MA on the body and brain, clinical challenges, and evidence-based treatments. MA use plays a unique role in transmission of HIV as a function of its promotion of high risk sexual behavior, particularly among MSM. This presentation reviewed these areas and some strategies for improving outcomes and reducing harm with individuals who use MA.
