The Rhode Island HIV & STI Prevention Coalition presents:
2019 Conference on Youth Sexual Health Education
AUDIENCE Any providers in Rhode Island who interact with youth and young adults (aged 11-24), including but not limited to: educators, health care providers, social workers, counselors, faith and community leaders, and others.
Participants will leave with:
Ability to communicate the importance of applying intersectional approaches in youth sexual health education including HIV and STI prevention to support positive health behaviors and outcomes
At least 3 tools that facilitate dialogue and promote intersectional approaches in youth sexual health education
Ability to apply the understanding of intersectionality to their daily practices
Connections to local and national community resources for sexual health and wellness
Applications will be submitted for physician, nursing, social work, and certified health educator continuing education credits.
A variety of the listed populations will be discussed at this event.
