Title: Treatment and Prevention of TB in People Living with HIV

Brief Description: This presentation describes recent updates on the global and U.S. epidemiology of tuberculosis, unique clinical features of HIV-related tuberculosis in people living with HIV, provides updates on diagnostic testing and recommended regimens for treatment of latent TB in people with HIV, and summarizes current approaches for treatment of TB, both drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB, with a focus on new recommendations that highlight shorter course treatment regimens and antiretroviral drugs that can be safely used with anti-TB drugs. New TB data from the recent Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections is also discussed.
