This advance training will provide an overview of the impact of systematic violence and discrimination faced by transgender people of color, including health risk related to HIV, substance abuse, and hormone use. In addition, the strength & resiliency within the community will be discussed. Participants will attend intensive breakout sessions for Medical Providers, Case Managers/Advocacy Providers, and Behavioral Health Providers. The training ends with a consumer panel discussing their experiences with the health care system and suggestions for improving HIV care and services for transgender people of color.
