HIV/AIDS Seminar: Moving beyond Bias:  How bias gets in the way of effective health care.

Erin M. Miers, PsyD, Clinical Psychologist with the HIV Program

This will be an experiential learning focused on exploring the roles that medical care providers fall into, especially when working with individuals who experience marginalization, such as people living with HIV, and how we can start to challenge and improve our work to provide better care to all patients.  We will also be discussion common patterns of behaviors in ourselves around this work, how we get in our way when working with patients, and hope for the future.
