2012 Theme: The End of The AIDS Epidemic is in sight with Prayer, Education, Testing and Treatment!
Every church, Synagogue, Mosque, Temple and Home is invited to join in prayer, education, advocacy and service for healing of AIDS in the United States and the world.
Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in a recent speech at the National Institutes of Health, boldly stated and shared the vision that “an AIDS-free generation is within reach”.
Mitchell Warren, head of the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC), responded to Secretary Clinton’s remarks by saying, “In the last year and a half, science has begun to tell us that that’s not a dream. That it’s scientifically possible.”
We, the believers, are joining hands around our nation and the world to rip down all barriers, like stigma and fear, that can halt the progressive path to ending the AIDS epidemic.
Together, we are boldly, with lifted hands and hearts, taking action and affirming with prayer, education, testing and treatment, we will “SEE” the end of AIDS and witness an AIDS-Free Generation!
The National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS is the coming together of all people of faith to unite with purpose, compassion and hope. Through the power of God’s love we will educate every American about HIV prevention facts; encourage and support HIV testing; advocate for the availability of compassionate care and treatment for all those living with the disease in every community in America; and love unconditionally all persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
